NCBI Description

Encodes an enzyme which specifically converts IAA to its methyl ester form MelIAA. This gene belongs to the family of carboxyl methyltransferases whose members catalyze the transfer of the methyl group from S-adenosyl-L-methionine to carboxylic acid-containing substrates to form small molecule methyl esters. Expression of TCP genes is downregulated in mutant iamt1-D.

Uniprot Description

Catalyzes the methylation of the free carboxyl end of the plant hormone indole-3-acetic acid (IAA). Converts IAA to IAA methyl ester (MeIAA). Regulates IAA activities by IAA methylation. Methylation of IAA plays an important role in regulating plant development and auxin homeostasis. Required for correct leaf pattern formation. MeIAA seems to be an inactive form of IAA.

Product Notes

The IAA iamt1 (Catalog #AAA5308027) is a Hapten Conjugate and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "IAA, Hapten Conjugate" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
