Hamster Transcription Initiation Factor IIA Subunit 1 (GTF2A1) ELISA Kit
NCBI and Uniprot Product Information
NCBI Description
Accurate transcription initiation on TATA-containing class II genes involves the ordered assembly of RNA polymerase II (POLR2A; MIM 180660) and several general initiation factors (summarized by DeJong and Roeder, 1993 [PubMed 8224848]). One of these factors is TFIIA, which when purified from HeLa extracts consists of 35-, 19-, and 12-kD subunits.[supplied by OMIM, Jul 2010]
Uniprot Description
GTF2A1: a general transcription factor that plays an important role in transcriptional activation. A component of the transcription machinery of RNA polymerase II. Phosphorylated by Taf(II) 250 on serines that regulate TBP binding. Interacts with TBP (the TATA-binding protein). Two isoforms, 42 kDa and 37 kDa, are produced by alternative initiation.
Protein type: Transcription, coactivator/corepressor
Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 14q31.1
Cellular Component: cytoplasm; nucleoplasm; transcription factor TFIIA complex
Molecular Function: DNA binding; protein binding; protein heterodimerization activity; TATA-binding protein binding; transcription coactivator activity; transcription factor binding
Biological Process: gene expression; regulation of transcription, DNA-dependent; RNA elongation from RNA polymerase II promoter; transcription from RNA polymerase II promoter; transcription initiation from RNA polymerase II promoter; viral reproduction

Product Notes
The Hamster GTF2A1 gtf2a1 (Catalog #AAA9359414) is an ELISA Kit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The AAA9359414 ELISA Kit recognizes Hamster GTF2A1. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Transcription Initiation Factor IIA Subunit 1 (GTF2A1), ELISA Kit" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.Precautions
