NCBI Description

The protein encoded by this gene catalyzes the addition of glucose monomers to the growing glycogen molecule through the formation of alpha-1,4-glycoside linkages. Mutations in this gene are associated with muscle glycogen storage disease. Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene.[provided by RefSeq, Sep 2009]

Uniprot Description

Transfers the glycosyl residue from UDP-Glc to the non-reducing end of alpha-1,4-glucan.

Product Notes

The GYS gys1 (Catalog #AAA853351) is an Antibody and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Glycogen Synthase (Phospho-Ser641) Antibody reacts with Human, Mouse and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's Glycogen Synthase can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB), ELISA (EIA). WB: 1:500-1:1000 ELISA: 1:10000. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the GYS gys1 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Glycogen Synthase, Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
