Related Product Information for TAF13 elisa kit
Intended Uses: This ELISA kit applies to the in vitro quantitative determination of Guinea pig TAF13 concentrations in serum, plasma and other biological fluids.

Principle of the Assay: This ELISA kit uses Sandwich-ELISA as the method. The micro ELISA plate provided in this kit has been pre-coated with an antibody specific to TAF13. Standards or samples are added to the appropriate micro ELISA plate wells and combined with the specific antibody. Then a biotinylated detection antibody specific for TAF13 and Avidin-Horseradish Peroxidase (HRP) conjugate is added to each micro plate well successively and incubated. Free components are washed away. The substrate solution is added to each well. Only those wells that contain TAF13, biotinylated detection antibody and Avidin-HRP conjugate will appear blue in color. The enzyme-substrate reaction is terminated by the addition of a sulphuric acid solution and the color turns yellow. The optical density (OD) is measured spectrophotometrically at a wavelength of 450 nm +/- 2 nm. The OD value is proportional to the concentration of TAF13. You can calculate the concentration of TAF13 in the samples by comparing the OD of the samples to the standard curve.

NCBI Description

Initiation of transcription by RNA polymerase II requires the activities of more than 70 polypeptides. The protein that coordinates these activities is transcription factor IID (TFIID), which binds to the core promoter to position the polymerase properly, serves as the scaffold for assembly of the remainder of the transcription complex, and acts as a channel for regulatory signals. TFIID is composed of the TATA-binding protein (TBP) and a group of evolutionarily conserved proteins known as TBP-associated factors or TAFs. TAFs may participate in basal transcription, serve as coactivators, function in promoter recognition or modify general transcription factors (GTFs) to facilitate complex assembly and transcription initiation. This gene encodes a small subunit associated with a subset of TFIID complexes. This subunit interacts with TBP and with two other small subunits of TFIID, TAF10 and TAF11. There is a pseudogene located on chromosome 6. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]

Uniprot Description

TAF13: a TBP-associated factor (TAF). A component of TFIID complexes composed of the TATA binding protein (TBP), TAF10 and TAF11. TAF13 and TAF10 contain non-canonical histone folds, forming a histone-like pair in TFIID complexes.

Product Notes

The Guinea Pig TAF13 taf13 (Catalog #AAA2515400) is an ELISA Kit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The AAA2515400 ELISA Kit recognizes Guinea Pig TAF13. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "TAF13, ELISA Kit" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
