Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months at -20 degree C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
Related Product Information for GSTO1 recombinant protein
Recombinant GSTO1 comprises a 241 amino acid fragment (1-241) corresponding to the GSTO1 mature protein, which is expressed in E. coli with an amino-terminalhexahistidine tag.

GSTO1 is a member of the theta class glutathione S- transferase-like (GSTTL) protein family. GSTO1 is expressed in a wide range of human tissues and exhibits glutathione-dependent thiol transferase and dehydroascorbate reductase activities and also catalyzes the reduction of monomethylarsonate, an intermediate in the pathway of arsenic biotransformation. GSTO1 protects from oxidative stress, a risk factor for Alzheimer disease, vascular dementia and stroke.

NCBI Description

The protein encoded by this gene is an omega class glutathione S-transferase (GST) with glutathione-dependent thiol transferase and dehydroascorbate reductase activities. GSTs are involved in the metabolism of xenobiotics and carcinogens. The encoded protein acts as a homodimer and is found in the cytoplasm. Three transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2010]

Uniprot Description

GSTO1: Exhibits glutathione-dependent thiol transferase and dehydroascorbate reductase activities. Has S-(phenacyl)glutathione reductase activity. Has also glutathione S-transferase activity. Participates in the biotransformation of inorganic arsenic and reduces monomethylarsonic acid (MMA) and dimethylarsonic acid. Belongs to the GST superfamily. Omega family.

Product Notes

The GSTO1 gsto1 (Catalog #AAA636070) is a Recombinant Protein produced from Human, Recombinant, E Coli and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. AAA Biotech's Glutathione S-transferase omega 1 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, ELISA (EL/EIA). Suitable for use in ELISA.,, Recommended Dilution:, Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the GSTO1 gsto1 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Glutathione S-transferase omega 1, Recombinant Protein" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
