NCBI and Uniprot Product Information
NCBI Description
Posttranslational glycosylphosphatidylinositol (GPI) anchor attachment serves as a general mechanism for linking proteins to the cell surface membrane. The protein encoded by this gene presumably functions in GPI anchoring at the GPI transfer step. The mRNA transcript is ubiquitously expressed in both fetal and adult tissues. The anchor attachment protein 1 contains an N-terminal signal sequence, 1 cAMP- and cGMP-dependent protein kinase phosphorylation site, 1 leucine zipper pattern, 2 potential N-glycosylation sites, and 8 putative transmembrane domains. Uniprot Description
GPAA1: Essential for GPI-anchoring of precursor proteins but not for GPI synthesis. Acts before or during formation of the carbonyl intermediate. 2 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.

Product Notes
The Human GPAA1 gpaa1 (Catalog #AAA280269) is an ELISA Kit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The AAA280269 ELISA Kit recognizes Human GPAA1. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Glycosylphosphatidylinositol anchor attachment 1 protein, ELISA Kit" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.Precautions
