Related Product Information for LF elisa kit
Intended Uses: This sandwich kit is for the accurate quantitative detection of Goat Lactoferrin (also known as LTF/LF) in serum, plasma, cell culture supernates, cell lysates, tissue homogenates.

Principle of the Assay: This kit is an Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay (ELISA). The plate has been pre-coated with Goat LTF/LF antibody. LTF/LF present in the sample is added and binds to antibodies coated on the wells. And then biotinylated Goat LTF/LF Antibody is added and binds to LTF/LF in the sample. Then Streptavidin-HRP is added and binds to the Biotinylated LTF/LF antibody. After incubation unbound Streptavidin-HRP is washed away during a washing step. Substrate solution is then added and color develops in proportion to the amount of Goat LTF/LF. The reaction is terminated by addition of acidic stop solution and absorbance is measured at 450 nm.

NCBI Description

This gene is a member of the transferrin family of genes and its protein product is found in the secondary granules of neutrophils. The protein is a major iron-binding protein in milk and body secretions with an antimicrobial activity, making it an important component of the non-specific immune system. The protein demonstrates a broad spectrum of properties, including regulation of iron homeostasis, host defense against a broad range of microbial infections, anti-inflammatory activity, regulation of cellular growth and differentiation and protection against cancer development and metastasis. Antimicrobial, antiviral, antifungal and antiparasitic activity has been found for this protein and its peptides. Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Sep 2014]

Uniprot Description

Transferrins are iron binding transport proteins which can bind two Fe3+ ions in association with the binding of an anion, usually bicarbonate.

Product Notes

The Goat LF ltf (Catalog #AAA1601441) is an ELISA Kit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The AAA1601441 ELISA Kit recognizes Goat LF. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Lactoferrin (LTF, LF), ELISA Kit" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
