NCBI Description

plays a role in prostaglandin (PG)F2alpha activation of ERK1 and ERK2 signaling [RGD, Feb 2006]

Uniprot Description

G-alpha i2: Guanine nucleotide-binding proteins (G proteins) are involved as modulators or transducers in various transmembrane signaling systems. The G(i) proteins are involved in hormonal regulation of adenylate cyclase: they inhibit the cyclase in response to beta-adrenergic stimuli. May play a role in cell division. Belongs to the G-alpha family. G(i/o/t/z) subfamily. 4 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.

Protein type: G protein; G protein, heterotrimeric alpha G((i/o/t/z)); G protein, heterotrimeric

Cellular Component: nucleoplasm; centrosome; membrane; cytoplasm; plasma membrane; heterotrimeric G-protein complex; midbody; nucleus; cytosol; vesicle; lipid raft

Molecular Function: GTPase activity; signal transducer activity; protein binding; GTP binding; G-protein-coupled receptor binding; metal ion binding; G-protein beta/gamma-subunit binding

Biological Process: acetylcholine receptor signaling, muscarinic pathway; activation of MAPKK activity; metabolic process; regulation of calcium ion transport; regulation of heart contraction; negative regulation of synaptic transmission; G-protein coupled receptor protein signaling pathway; cell proliferation; cell division; metabotropic glutamate receptor signaling pathway; positive regulation of cell proliferation; G-protein signaling, adenylate cyclase inhibiting pathway; adenosine receptor signaling pathway; gamma-aminobutyric acid signaling pathway

Product Notes

The Rat GNAI2 gnai2 (Catalog #AAA9320467) is an ELISA Kit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The AAA9320467 ELISA Kit recognizes Rat GNAI2. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "guanine nucleotide binding protein (G protein) , alpha inhibiting activity polypeptide 2, ELISA Kit" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
