Related Product Information for GLTPD1 elisa kit
GLTPD1, Belongs to the GLTP family. GLTP is similar to bovine and porcine proteins which accelerate transfer of certain glycosphingolipids and glyceroglycolipids between membranes. It is thought to be a cytoplasmic protein.Detected in fibroblasts (at protein level). Detected in fibroblasts and in various cancer cell lines.
Glycolipid transfer protein is a cytosolic protein that catalyses the transfer of glycolipids between different intracellular membranes. This protein transport primarily different glycosphingolipids and glyceroglycolipids between intracellular membranes, but not phospholipids. It might be also involved in translocation of glucosylceramides. It was found in brain, kidney, spleen, lung, cerebellum, liver and heart.

Principle of the Assay: This assay employs a two-site sandwich ELISA to quantitate GLTPD1 in samples. An antibody specific for GLTPD1 has been pre-coated onto a microplate. Standards and samples are pipetted into the wells and anyGLTPD1 present is bound by the immobilized antibody. After removing any unbound substances, a biotin-conjugated antibody specific for GLTPD1 is added to the wells. After washing, Streptavidin conjugated Horseradish Peroxidase (HRP) is added to the wells. Following a wash to remove any unbound avidin-enzyme reagent, a substrate solution is added to the wells and color develops in proportion to the amount of GLTPD1 bound in the initial step. The color development is stopped and the intensity of the color is measured.

Uniprot Description

Mediates the intracellular transfer of ceramide-1-phosphate between organelle membranes and the cell membrane. Required for normal structure of the Golgi stacks. Can bind phosphoceramides with a variety of aliphatic chains, but has a preference for lipids with saturated C16:0 or monounsaturated C18:1 aliphatic chains, and is inefficient with phosphoceramides containing lignoceryl (C24:0). Plays a role in the regulation of the cellular levels of ceramide-1-phosphate, and thereby contributes to the regulation of phospholipase PLA2G4A activity and the release of arachidonic acid. Has no activity with galactosylceramide, lactosylceramide, sphingomyelin, phosphatidylcholine, phosphatidic acid and ceramide ().

Product Notes

The Rat GLTPD1 cptp (Catalog #AAA283842) is an ELISA Kit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The AAA283842 ELISA Kit recognizes Rat GLTPD1. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Glycolipid transfer protein domain-containing protein 1, ELISA Kit" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
