Nitrogen regulation protein NR (I) Recombinant Protein | glnG recombinant protein
Recombinant Escherichia coli Nitrogen regulation protein NR (I)
NCBI and Uniprot Product Information
NCBI Description
NtrC is a member of the 54-dependent activator family and belongs to the two-component system NtrB/NtrC . [More information is available at EcoCyc: EG10385].
Uniprot Description
Member of the two-component regulatory system NtrB/NtrC, which controls expression of the nitrogen-regulated (ntr) genes in response to nitrogen limitation. Phosphorylated NtrC binds directly to DNA and stimulates the formation of open promoter-sigma54-RNA polymerase complexes (PubMed:2874557, PubMed:3304660, PubMed:2574599, PubMed:1350679). Activates transcription of many genes and operons whose products minimize the slowing of growth under nitrogen-limiting conditions, including genes coding for glutamine synthetase (glnA), transporters, amino acid permeases and catabolic enzymes (PubMed:11121068).

It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Nitrogen regulation protein NR (I), Recombinant Protein" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.Precautions
