Reactivity
Human
Specificity
This assay has high sensitivity and excellent specificity for detection of human GDF10. No significant cross-reactivity or interference between human GDF10 and analogues was observed.
Sequence Length
478
Samples
Serum, plasma, tissue homogenates
Assay Type
Sandwich
Detection Range
23.44 pg/ml-1500 pg/ml.
Sensitivity
The minimum detectable dose of human GDF10 is typically less than 5.86 pg/ml. The sensitivity of this assay, or Lower Limit of Detection (LLD) was defined as the lowest protein concentration that could be differentiated from zero. It was determined the mean O.D value of 20 replicates of the zero standard added by their three standard deviations.
Intra-assay Precision
Intra-assay Precision (Precision within an assay): CV%<8%. Three samples of known concentration were tested twenty times on one plate to assess.
Inter-assay Precision
Inter-assay Precision (Precision between assays): CV%<10%. Three samples of known concentration were tested in twenty assays to assess.
Preparation and Storage
Unopened test kits should be stored at 2 to 8 degree C upon receipt. Please refer to pdf manual for further storage instructions.

Principle of the assay: This assay employs the quantitative sandwich enzyme immunoassay technique. Antibody specific for GDF10 has been pre-coated onto a microplate. Standards and samples are pipetted into the wells and any GDF10 present is bound by the immobilized antibody. After removing any unbound substances, a biotin-conjugated antibody specific for GDF10 is added to the wells. After washing, avidin conjugated Horseradish Peroxidase (HRP) is added to the wells. Following a wash to remove any unbound avidin-enzyme reagent, a substrate solution is added to the wells and color develops in proportion to the amount of GDF10 bound in the initial step. The color development is stopped and the intensity of the color is measured.

NCBI Description

The protein encoded by this gene is a member of the bone morphogenetic protein (BMP) family and the TGF-beta superfamily. This group of proteins is characterized by a polybasic proteolytic processing site which is cleaved to produce a mature protein containing seven conserved cysteine residues. The members of this family are regulators of cell growth and differentiation in both embryonic and adult tissues. Studies in mice suggest that the protein encoded by this gene plays a role in skeletal morphogenesis. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]

Product Notes

The Human GDF10 gdf10 (Catalog #AAA945713) is an ELISA Kit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The AAA945713 ELISA Kit recognizes Human GDF10. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "growth differentiation factor 10, ELISA Kit" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
