Principle of the Assay: The microtiter plate provided in this kit has been pre-coated with an antibody specific to FN Standards or samples are then added to the appropriate microtiter plate wells with a HRP-conjugated antibody preparation specific for FN to each microplate well and incubated. Then a TMB (3,3',5,5' tetramethyl-benzidine) substrate solution is added to each well. Only those wells that contain FN, HRP-conjugated antibody will exhibit a change in color. The enzyme-substrate reaction is terminated by the addition of a sulphuric acid solution and the color change is measured spectrophotometrically at a wavelength of 450 nm +/- 2 nm. The concentration of FN in the samples is then determined by comparing the O.D. of the samples to the standard curve.

Uniprot Description

Function: Fibronectins bind cell surfaces and various compounds including collagen, fibrin, heparin, DNA, and actin. Fibronectins are involved in cell adhesion, cell motility, opsonization, wound healing, and maintenance of cell shape. Involved in osteoblast compaction through the fibronectin fibrillogenesis cell-mediated matrix assembly process, essential for osteoblast mineralization. Participates in the regulation of type I collagen deposition by osteoblasts

Product Notes

The Bovine FN1 fn1 (Catalog #AAA701901) is an ELISA Kit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The AAA701901 ELISA Kit recognizes Bovine FN1. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "fibronectin 1, ELISA Kit" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
