Intended Uses: For the quantitative detection of Human Fibrinogen-like protein 1 (FGL1) concentration in serum, plasma and other biological fluids.

Principle of the Assay: This assay employs a two-site sandwich ELISA to quantitate FGL1 in Human serum, plasma. An antibody specific for FGL1 has been pre-coated onto a microplate. Standards and samples are pipetted into the wells and any FGL1 present is bound by the immobilized antibody. After removing any unbound substances, a biotin-conjugated antibody specific for FGL1 is added to the wells. After washing, Streptavidin conjugated Horseradish Peroxidase (HRP) is added to the wells. Following a wash to remove any unbound avidin-enzyme reagent, a substrate solution is added to the wells and color develops in proportion to the amount of FGL1 bound in the initial step. The color development is stopped and the intensity of the color is measured.

NCBI Description

Fibrinogen-like 1 is a member of the fibrinogen family. This protein is homologous to the carboxy terminus of the fibrinogen beta- and gamma- subunits which contains the four conserved cysteines of fibrinogens and fibrinogen related proteins. However, this protein lacks the platelet-binding site, cross-linking region and a thrombin-sensitive site which are necessary for fibrin clot formation. This protein may play a role in the development of hepatocellular carcinomas. Four alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding the same protein exist for this gene. Uniprot Description

FGL1: Has hepatocyte mitogenic activity.

Protein type: Extracellular matrix; Secreted; Secreted, signal peptide

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 8p22

Product Notes

The Human FGL1 fgl1 (Catalog #AAA280295) is an ELISA Kit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The AAA280295 ELISA Kit recognizes Human FGL1. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Fibrinogen-like protein 1, ELISA Kit" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
