Related Product Information for FGF14 elisa kit
Intended Uses: This ELISA kit applies to the invitro quantitative determination of HumanFGF14concentrations in serum, plasma and other biological fluids.

Principle of the Assay: This ELISA kit uses Sandwich-ELISA as the method. The micro ELISA plate provided in this kit has been pre-coated with an antibody specific to FGF14. Standards or samples are added to the appropriate micro ELISA plate wells and combined with the specific antibody. Then a biotinylated detection antibody specific for FGF14and Avidin-Horseradish Peroxidase (HRP) conjugate is added to each micro plate well successively and incubated. Free components are washed away. The substrate solution is added to each well. Only those wells that contain FGF14, biotinylated detection antibody and Avidin-HRP conjugate will appear blue in color. The enzyme-substrate reaction is terminated by the addition of a sulphuric acid solution and the color turns yellow. The optical density (OD) is measured spectrophotometrically at a wavelength of 450 nm +/- 2 nm. The OD value is proportional to the concentration of FGF14.You can calculate the concentration of FGF14in the samples by comparing the OD of the samples to the standard curve.

Uniprot Description

FGF14: Probably involved in nervous system development and function. Defects in FGF14 are the cause of spinocerebellar ataxia type 27 (SCA27). Spinocerebellar ataxia is a clinically and genetically heterogeneous group of cerebellar disorders. Patients show progressive incoordination of gait and often poor coordination of hands, speech and eye movements, due to degeneration of the cerebellum with variable involvement of the brainstem and spinal cord. SCA27 is an autosomal dominant cerebellar ataxia (ADCA). It is a slowly progressive disorder, with onset in late-childhood to early adulthood, characterized by ataxia with tremor, orofacial dyskinesia, psychiatric symptoms and cognitive deficits. Belongs to the heparin-binding growth factors family. 2 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.

Protein type: Cell development/differentiation; Cytokine

Cellular Component: cytosol; extracellular region; intracellular; nucleus

Molecular Function: fibroblast growth factor receptor binding; growth factor activity; heparin binding

Biological Process: adult locomotory behavior; fibroblast growth factor receptor signaling pathway; JNK cascade; nervous system development; neuromuscular process; positive regulation of defense response to virus by host; regulation of postsynaptic membrane potential; regulation of synaptic plasticity; synaptic transmission

Product Notes

The Human FGF14 fgf14 (Catalog #AAA2533432) is an ELISA Kit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The AAA2533432 ELISA Kit recognizes Human FGF14. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Fibroblast Growth Factor 14, ELISA Kit" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
