Uniprot Description

FFAR3: Receptor for short chain fatty acids. The activity of this receptor is coupled to the formation of inositol 1,4,5- trisphosphate, intracellular Ca2+ mobilization, the activation of ERK 1/2 and inhibition of intracellular cAMP accumulation. Coupled exclusively to the pertussis toxin-sensitive G(i/o)-alpha protein. The rank order of potency for agonists of this receptor is propionate = pentanoate = butyrate > acetate > formate. Belongs to the G-protein coupled receptor 1 family.

Protein type: GPCR, family 1; Membrane protein, integral; Membrane protein, multi-pass; Receptor, GPCR

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 7|7 B1

Cellular Component: integral component of membrane; membrane; plasma membrane

Molecular Function: G-protein coupled receptor activity; lipid binding; signal transducer activity

Biological Process: G-protein coupled receptor signaling pathway; G-protein signaling, adenylate cyclase inhibiting pathway; glucose homeostasis; immune system process; inflammatory response; mucosal immune response; negative regulation of blood pressure; positive regulation of action potential; positive regulation of acute inflammatory response to non-antigenic stimulus; positive regulation of chemokine production; positive regulation of cytokine production involved in immune response; regulation of heart rate by chemical signal; regulation of hormone biosynthetic process; signal transduction

Product Notes

The FFAR3 ffar3 (Catalog #AAA2097544) is a Recombinant Protein produced from E Coli and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Recombinant Free Fatty Acid Receptor 3 (FFAR3) reacts with Mouse and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's Free Fatty Acid Receptor 3 (FFAR3) can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Positive Control, Immunogen, SDS-PAGE, Western Blot (WB). Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the FFAR3 ffar3 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Free Fatty Acid Receptor 3 (FFAR3), Recombinant Protein" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
