Principle of the Assay: This assay employs the quantitative sandwich enzyme immunoassay technique. Antibody specific for FCGRT has been pre-coated onto a microplate. Standards and samples are pipetted into the wells and any FCGRT present is bound by the immobilized antibody. After removing any unbound substances, a biotin-conjugated antibody specific for FCGRT is added to the wells. After washing, avidin conjugated Horseradish Peroxidase (HRP) is added to the wells. Following a wash to remove any unbound avidin-enzyme reagent, a substrate solution is added to the wells and color develops in proportion to the amount of FCGRT bound in the initial step. The color development is stopped and the intensity of the color is measured.

NCBI Description

This gene encodes a receptor that binds the Fc region of monomeric immunoglobulin G. The encoded protein transfers immunoglobulin G antibodies from mother to fetus across the placenta. This protein also binds immunoglobulin G to protect the antibody from degradation. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants. [provided by RefSeq, Apr 2009]

Uniprot Description

FCGRT: Binds to the Fc region of monomeric immunoglobulins gamma. Mediates the uptake of IgG from milk. Possible role in transfer of immunoglobulin G from mother to fetus. Belongs to the immunoglobulin superfamily.

Protein type: Receptor, misc.; Immunoglobulin superfamily; Membrane protein, integral

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 19q13.3

Cellular Component: plasma membrane; integral to membrane

Molecular Function: IgG binding; beta-2-microglobulin binding; IgG receptor activity; antigen binding

Biological Process: antigen processing and presentation; immune response; IgG immunoglobulin transcytosis in epithelial cells mediated by FcRn immunoglobulin receptor

Product Notes

The Human FCGRT fcgrt (Catalog #AAA937383) is an ELISA Kit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The AAA937383 ELISA Kit recognizes Human FCGRT. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Fc fragment of IgG, receptor, transporter, alpha, ELISA Kit" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
