Principle of the Assay||This kit was based on sandwich enzyme-linked immune-sorbent assay technology. Anti-Human EP2 antibody was pre-coated onto 96-well plates. And the biotin conjugated anti-Human EP2 antibody was used as detection antibodies. The standards, test samples and biotin conjugated detection antibody were added to the wells subsequently, and wash with wash buffer. HRP-Streptavidin was added and unbound conjugates were washed away with wash buffer. TMB substrates were used to visualize HRP enzymatic reaction. TMB was catalyzed by HRP to produce a blue color product that changed into yellow after adding acidic stop solution. The density of yellow is proportional to the Human EP2 amount of sample captured in plate. Read the O.D. absorbance at 450nm in a microplate reader, and then the concentration of Human EP2 can be calculated.

NCBI Description

This gene encodes a receptor for prostaglandin E2, a metabolite of arachidonic acid which has different biologic activities in a wide range of tissues. Mutations in this gene are associated with aspirin-induced susceptibility to asthma. [provided by RefSeq, Oct 2009]

Uniprot Description

PTGER2: Receptor for prostaglandin E2 (PGE2). The activity of this receptor is mediated by G(s) proteins that stimulate adenylate cyclase. The subsequent raise in intracellular cAMP is responsible for the relaxing effect of this receptor on smooth muscle. Belongs to the G-protein coupled receptor 1 family.

Protein type: GPCR, family 1; Membrane protein, multi-pass; Membrane protein, integral; Receptor, GPCR

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 14q22

Cellular Component: integral to plasma membrane; plasma membrane

Molecular Function: prostaglandin E receptor activity

Biological Process: G-protein coupled receptor protein signaling pathway; G-protein signaling, adenylate cyclase activating pathway; regulation of cell proliferation; response to lipopolysaccharide; response to progesterone stimulus

Disease: Asthma, Nasal Polyps, And Aspirin Intolerance

Product Notes

The Human EP2 ptger2 (Catalog #AAA765106) is an ELISA Kit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The AAA765106 ELISA Kit recognizes Human EP2. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Prostaglandin E Receptor 2, ELISA Kit" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
