Related Product Information for 4EBP3 recombinant protein
Repressor of translation initiation that regulates EIF4E activity by preventing its assbly into the eIF4F complex: hypophosphorylated form competes with EIF4G1/EIF4G3 and strongly binds to EIF4E, leading to repress translation. In contrast, hyperphosphorylated form dissociates from EIF4E, allowing interaction between EIF4G1/EIF4G3 and EIF4E, leading to initiation of translation.

NCBI Description

This gene encodes a member of the EIF4EBP family, which consists of proteins that bind to eukaryotic translation initiation factor 4E and regulate its assembly into EIF4F, the multi-subunit translation initiation factor that recognizes the mRNA cap structure. Read-through transcription from the neighboring upstream gene (MASK or ANKHD1) generates a transcript (MASK-BP3) that encodes a protein comprised of the MASK protein sequence for the majority of the protein and a different C-terminus due to an alternate reading frame for the EIF4EBP3 segments. [provided by RefSeq, Oct 2010]

Uniprot Description

4E-BP3: Regulates eIF4E activity by preventing its assembly into the eIF4F complex. EIF4EBP3 interacts with EIF4E. Expression is highest in skeletal muscle, heart, kidney, and pancreas, whereas there is very little expression in brain and thymus. Belongs to the eIF4E-binding protein family.

Product Notes

The 4EBP3 eif4ebp3 (Catalog #AAA9420205) is a Recombinant Protein produced from E Coli and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The immunogen sequence is Full Length, 1-100aa. The Recombinant Human Eukaryotic translation initiation factor 4E-binding protein 3 reacts with Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Eukaryotic translation initiation factor 4E-binding protein 3, Recombinant Protein" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
