Related Product Information for EFNB2 recombinant protein
Ephrin-B2 is a member of the ephrin (EPH) family. The ephrins and EPH-related receptors comprise the largest subfamily of receptor protein-tyrosine kinases and have been implicated in mediating developmental events, especially in the nervous system and in erythropoiesis. Based on their structures and sequence relationships, ephrins are divided into the ephrin-A (EFNA) class, which are anchored to the membrane by a glycosylphosphatidylinositol linkage, and the ephrin-B (EFNB) class, which are transmembrane proteins. It binds to the EPHB4 and EPHA3 receptors. Recombinant human EFNB2 protein, fused to His-tag at N-terminus, was expressed in E Coli and purified by conventional chromatography, after refolding of the isolated inclusion bodies in a renaturation buffer.

NCBI Description

This gene encodes a member of the ephrin (EPH) family. This gene encodes an EFNB class ephrin which binds to the EPHB4 and EPHA3 receptors. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]

Uniprot Description

Cell surface transmembrane ligand for Eph receptors, a family of receptor tyrosine kinases which are crucial for migration, repulsion and adhesion during neuronal, vascular and epithelial development. Binds promiscuously Eph receptors residing on adjacent cells, leading to contact-dependent bidirectional signaling into neighboring cells. The signaling pathway downstream of the receptor is referred to as forward signaling while the signaling pathway downstream of the ephrin ligand is referred to as reverse signaling. Binds to receptor tyrosine kinase including EPHA4, EPHA3 and EPHB4. Together with EPHB4 plays a central role in heart morphogenesis and angiogenesis through regulation of cell adhesion and cell migration. EPHB4-mediated forward signaling controls cellular repulsion and segregation from EFNB2-expressing cells. May play a role in constraining the orientation of longitudinally projecting axons.

Product Notes

The EFNB2 efnb2 (Catalog #AAA204716) is a Recombinant Protein produced from E Coli and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The tag for this protein is His-tag. AAA Biotech's EFNB2 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, SDS-PAGE. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the EFNB2 efnb2 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. The amino acid sequence is listed below: MGSSHHHHHH SSGLVPRGSH MGSHMIVLEP IYWNSSNSKF LPGQGLVLYP QIGDKLDIIC PKVDSKTVGQ YEYYKVYMVD KDQADRCTIK KENTPLLNCA KPDQDIKFTI KFQEFSPNLW GLEFQKNKDY YIISTSNGSL EGLDNQEGGV CQTRAMKILM KVGQDASSAG STRNKDPTRR PELEAGTNGR SSTTSPFVKP NPGSSTDGNS AGHSGNNILG SEVALFA. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "EFNB2, Recombinant Protein" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
