NCBI and Uniprot Product Information
Uniprot Description
ECM1: Involved in endochondral bone formation as negative regulator of bone mineralization. Stimulates the proliferation of endothelial cells and promotes angiogenesis. Inhibits MMP9 proteolytic activity. Defects in ECM1 are the cause of lipoid proteinosis (LiP); also known as lipoid proteinosis of Urbach and Wiethe or hyalinosis cutis et mucosae. LiP is a rare autosomal recessive disorder characterized by generalized thickening of skin, mucosae and certain viscera. Classical features include beaded eyelid papules and laryngeal infiltration leading to hoarseness. Histologically, there is widespread deposition of hyaline material and disruption/reduplication of basement membrane. 4 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.

Product Notes
The Human ECM1 ecm1 (Catalog #AAA763045) is an ELISA Kit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The AAA763045 ELISA Kit recognizes Human ECM1. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Extracellular matrix protein 1, ELISA Kit" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.Precautions
