SARS Envelope protein Recombinant Protein | SARS E recombinant protein

SARS Envelope protein Recombinant

Purity
>95%, as determined by SDS-PAGE.
Synonyms
SARS Envelope protein; SARS Envelope protein Recombinant; sars; envelope; SARS E recombinant protein
Ordering
For Research Use Only!
Host
E Coli
Purity/Purification
>95%, as determined by SDS-PAGE.
Form/Format
Lyophilized from 50mM Tris-HCl, 60mM NaCl and 50% glycerol.
Sequence Length
76
Application Notes
SARS antigen is suitable for ELISA and Western blots, excellent antigen for detection of SARS with minimal specificity problems.
Host Note
DNA sequence encoding immunodominant fragment of SARS Envelope protein was expressed in Escherichia Coli.
Reconstitution
A quick spin of the vial followed by reconstitution in distilled water to a concentration not less than 0.1 mg/mL. This solution can then be diluted into other buffers.
Molecular Weight Note
Recombinant SARS E encodes the immunodominant sequences of the SARS Envelope small membrane protein.

Recombinant SARS E contains an N terminal GST purification tag and migrates as an approximately 43 kDa protein under non-reducing conditions and reducing conditions in SDS-PAGE.
Preparation and Storage
The lyophilized protein is stable for at least 2 years from date of receipt at -20 degree C.
Upon reconstitution, this protein can be stored in working aliquots at 2 degree - 8 degree C for one month, or at -20 degree C for six months, with a carrier protein without detectable loss of activity.

Avoid repeated freeze/thaw cycles.

Uniprot Description

Function: Component of the viral envelope that plays a central role in virus morphogenesis and assembly. It is sufficient to form virus-like particles. Seems to be important for creating the membrane curvature needed to acquire the rounded, stable and infectious particle phenotype. Acts as a viroporin, inducing the formation of hydrophilic pores in cellular membranes. Also induces apoptosis

By similarity.

Subunit structure: Homooligomer. Interacts with the M membrane protein in the budding compartment of the host cell, which is located between endoplasmic reticulum and the Golgi complex

By similarity. Interacts with the accessory proteins 3a and 7a. Ref.21 Ref.22 Ref.23

Subcellular location: Virion membrane; Single-pass type III membrane protein

Potential. Host Golgi apparatus membrane; Single-pass type III membrane protein

Potential. Note: Largely membrane-embedded. The N-terminus could be located within the membrane near the cytoplasmic side since no part of the protein is aparently exposed on the virion outside. The large hydrophobic domain could form a hairpin, looping back through the membrane. There also may be a second hydrophobic domain integrated into membranes

By similarity.

Sequence similarities: Belongs to the coronaviruses E protein family.

Product Notes

The SARS E e (Catalog #AAA553225) is a Recombinant Protein produced from E Coli and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. SARS antigen is suitable for ELISA and Western blots, excellent antigen for detection of SARS with minimal specificity problems. . Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the SARS E e for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "SARS Envelope protein, Recombinant Protein" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
