Sequence
The sequence of the first six N-terminal amino acids was determined and was found to be Ala-Gln-Arg-Leu-Phe-Asn.
Solubility
It is recommended to reconstitute the lyophilized zfGH mutant in sterile water or 0.4% NaHCO3 adjusted to pH 8-9, not less than 100ug/ml and not more than 3 mg/ml, which can then be further diluted to other aqueous solutions, preferably in presence of carrier protein.
Protein Content
Protein quantitation was carried out by UV spectroscopy at 280 nm using the absorbency value of 0.42 as the extinction coefficient for a 0.1% (1mg/ml) solution at pH 8.0 This value is calculated by the DNAman program.

The purified zfGH mutant (21K) consists of > 99% monomers as determined by gel-filtration chromatography.
Endotoxin
Less than 0.05 ng/ug (IEU/ug) of zfGH (22 K).
Formulation
The protein was lyophilized from a concentrated (1mg/ml) solution with 0.5% NaHCO3 adjusted to pH 8.
Biological Activity
The biologically activity of zfGH mutant in PDF-P1 3B9 cells stably transfected with rabbit GH receptors has not yet been tested.
Preparation and Storage
Lyophilized zfGH although stable at room temperature for 3 weeks, should be stored desiccated below -18 degree C. Upon reconstitution at > 0.1 mg/ml and filter sterilization zfGH mutant can be stored at 4 degree C for several weeks. At lower concentration addition of a carrier protein (0.1% HSA or BSA) is recomended. Please prevent freeze-thaw cycles.
