• Biological Activity: The ED50, as measured in a cell proliferation assay using human TF-1 cells transfected with human CNTF Ralpha, is less than 15ng/ml.
• Solubility: It is recommended to reconstitute the lyophilized NNT1 in sterile 18M-cm H2O not less than 0.5mg/ml, which can then be further diluted to other aqueous solutions.
• Preparation and Storage: Lyophilized Neurotrophin-1 although stable at room temperature for 3 weeks, should be stored desiccated below -18 degree C. Upon reconstitution NNT1 should be stored at 4 degree C between 2-7 days and for future use below -18 degree C. For long term storage it is recommended to add a carrier protein (0.1% HSA or BSA). Please prevent freeze-thaw cycles.

Introduction: Cardiotrophin-like cytokine (CLC/ NNT-1) belongs to the IL-6 family of cytokines. All family members share the receptor subunit gp130, which belongs to the type I cytokine receptor superfamily. NNT1 is a trophic factor for motor neurons, a stimulator of ACTH release from corticotrophs, and an inducer of IgE synthesis and B cell proliferation. Cells expressing NNT-1 include embryonic muscle, lung epithelium, and mesenchyme. NNT1 binds to and activates the ILST/gp130 receptor.

CLCF1: Cytokine with B-cell stimulating capability. Binds to and activates the ILST/gp130 receptor. Defects in CLCF1 are the cause of cold-induced sweating syndrome type 2 (CISS2). Cold-induced sweating syndrome (CISS) is an autosomal recessive disorder characterized by profuse sweating induced by cool surroundings (temperatures of 7 to 18 degrees Celsius). Additional abnormalities include a high- arched palate, nasal voice, depressed nasal bridge, inability to fully extend the elbows and kyphoscoliosis. Belongs to the IL-6 superfamily. 2 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.
