Active Interleukin 11 (IL11)
Activity Data
(IL11 (Interleukin-11) is a multifunctional cytokine first isolated from bone marrow-derived stromal cells. It stimulates the proliferation of hematopoietic stem cells and megakaryocyte progenitor cells and induces megakaryocyte maturation resulting in increased platelet production. Besides, IL11 is reported to induce the proliferation of human T-cells, thus, a proliferation assay was conducted to detect the bioactivity of human recombinant IL11 using Jurkat cells. Briefly, Jurkat cells were seeded into triplicate wells of 96-well plates at a density of 10, 000 cells/well in RPMI-1640 with the addition of various concentrations of IL11. After incubated for 72h, cells were observed by inverted microscope and cell proliferation was measured by Cell Counting Kit-8 (CCK-8). Briefly, 10uL of CCK-8 solution was added to each well of the plate, then the absorbance at 450nm was measured using a microplate reader after incubating the plate for 1-4 hours at 37 degree C. Cell proliferation of Jurkat cells after incubation with IL11 for 72h observed by inverted microscope was shown in Figure 1. The CCK-8 data was shown in Figure 2. It was obvious that IL11 significantly promoted cell proliferation of Jurkat cells.)
NCBI and Uniprot Product Information
Accurate Molecular Weight: 27kDa
NCBI Description
The protein encoded by this gene is a member of the gp130 family of cytokines. These cytokines drive the assembly of multisubunit receptor complexes, all of which contain at least one molecule of the transmembrane signaling receptor IL6ST (gp130). This cytokine is shown to stimulate the T-cell-dependent development of immunoglobulin-producing B cells. It is also found to support the proliferation of hematopoietic stem cells and megakaryocyte progenitor cells. Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding distinct isoforms have been found for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Jun 2012]

The Active Interleukin 11 (IL11) reacts with Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's Interleukin 11 (IL11) can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Cell culture, Activity Assays. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the IL11 il11 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Interleukin 11 (IL11), Active Protein" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.Precautions
