Related Product Information for VAPB active protein
Protein Construction: Recombinant Human Vesicle-associated membrane protein-associated protein B is produced by our E Coli expression system and the target gene encoding Ala2-Pro132 is expressed with a 6His tag at the C-terminus.

Background: vesicle-associated membrane protein-associated protein B/C (VAPB) is presents in mitochondria-associated membranes that are endoplasmic reticulum membrane regions closely apposed to the outer mitochondrial membrane. It can form homodimer, and heterodimer with VAPA. It also interacts with VAMP1, VAMP2, HCV NS5A, NS5B, ZFYVE27 and RMDN3. VAPB participates in the endoplasmic reticulum unfolded protein response (UPR) by inducing ERN1/IRE1 activity. It is involved in cellular calcium homeostasis regulation.

NCBI Description

The protein encoded by this gene is a type IV membrane protein found in plasma and intracellular vesicle membranes. The encoded protein is found as a homodimer and as a heterodimer with VAPA. This protein also can interact with VAMP1 and VAMP2 and may be involved in vesicle trafficking. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]

Uniprot Description

Participates in the endoplasmic reticulum unfolded protein response (UPR) by inducing ERN1/IRE1 activity. Involved in cellular calcium homeostasis regulation.

Product Notes

The VAPB vapb (Catalog #AAA2556702) is an Active Protein produced from E Coli and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Vesicle-Associated Membrane Protein-Associated Protein B, Active Protein" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
