<1.0 EU/ug of recombinant protein as determined by the LAL method.
Reconstitution
Reconstitute at 100 ug/mL in sterile PBS
Preparation and Storage
The lyophilized protein is stable for at least one year from date of receipt at-70 degree C. Upon reconstitution, this cytokine can be stored in working aliquots at 2-8 degree C for one month, or at-20 degree C for six months, with a carrier protein without detectable loss of activity. Avoid repeated freeze/thaw cycles.

Related Product Information for TMSB4X active protein
The primary function of the T beta-4 member of the Thymosin-beta family is to maintain the organization of the cell's cytoskeletal structure. Produced by myoblasts and fibroblasts, TMSB4X acts as a modulator for the production and digestion of actin and to inhibit filamentous actin polymerization. TMSB4X has also been found to induce phenotypic changes in T cell lines during early host defence mechanisms and inhibit the progression of hematopoietic pluripotent stem cells into the s-phase.

NCBI Description

This gene encodes an actin sequestering protein which plays a role in regulation of actin polymerization. The protein is also involved in cell proliferation, migration, and differentiation. This gene escapes X inactivation and has a homolog on chromosome Y. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]

Uniprot Description

TMSB4X: Plays an important role in the organization of the cytoskeleton. Binds to and sequesters actin monomers (G actin) and therefore inhibits actin polymerization. Belongs to the thymosin beta family.

Protein type: Motility/polarity/chemotaxis; Cytoskeletal

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: Xq21.3-q22

Cellular Component: cytoskeleton; extracellular region

Molecular Function: actin monomer binding; protein binding

Biological Process: platelet activation; platelet degranulation; sequestering of actin monomers; actin filament organization; blood coagulation

Product Notes

The TMSB4X tmsb4x (Catalog #AAA4159813) is an Active Protein produced from E Coli and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Thymosin-Beta 4 (TMSB4X), Active Protein" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
