Host
E Coli
Purity/Purification
>95% as determined by SDS-PAGE
Form/Format
Lyophilized from 0.2 um filtered solution in PBS
Sequence Length
177
Bioactivity
The ED(50) was determined by the dose-dependent proliferation of Immortalized Human Endometrial Stromal Cells (HESC) and was found to be <0.05ng/mL.
Endotoxin Level
<1.0 EU/ug of recombinant protein as determined by the LAL method
Reconstitution
A quick spin of the vial followed by reconstitution in distilled water to a concentration not less than 0.1 mg/mL. This solution can then be diluted into other buffers.
Preparation and Storage
The lyophilized protein is stable for at least one year from date of receipt at-70 degree C. Upon reconstitution, this cytokine can be stored in working aliquots at 2-8 degree C for one month, or at-20 degree C for six months, with a carrier protein without detectable loss of activity. Avoid repeated freeze/thaw cycles.

Related Product Information for PTHLH active protein
PTHLH is a member of the parathyroid hormone family which regulates endochondral bone development and epithelial-mesenchymal interactions during the formation of the mammary glands and teeth via its receptor, PTHR1. In most cases of humoral hypercalcemia of malignancy, PTHLH is responsible. Alternatively spliced transcript variants have been found for this gene and mutations in this gene are also associated with brachydactyly type E2 (BDE2). Furthermore, evidence have been found for alternative translation initiation from non-AUG (CUG and GUG) start sites, downstream of the initiator AUG codon, resulting in nuclear forms of this hormone.

NCBI Description

The protein encoded by this gene is a member of the parathyroid hormone family. This hormone, via its receptor, PTHR1, regulates endochondral bone development and epithelial-mesenchymal interactions during the formation of the mammary glands and teeth. It is responsible for most cases of humoral hypercalcemia of malignancy, and mutations in this gene are associated with brachydactyly type E2 (BDE2). Alternatively spliced transcript variants have been found for this gene. There is also evidence for alternative translation initiation from non-AUG (CUG and GUG) start sites, downstream of the initiator AUG codon, resulting in nuclear forms of this hormone. Uniprot Description

PTHrP: a member of the parathyroid hormone family. This hormone regulates endochondral bone development and epithelial-mesenchymal interactions during the formation of the mammary glands and teeth. This hormone is involved in lactation possibly by regulating the mobilization and transfer of calcium to the milk. The receptor of this hormone, PTHR1, is responsible for most cases of humoral hypercalcemia of malignancy. Three alternatively spliced isoforms have been described.

Product Notes

The PTHLH pthlh (Catalog #AAA4159916) is an Active Protein produced from E Coli and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "PTHLH, Active Protein" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
