Reconstitution
A hardcopy of COA with reconstitution instruction is sent along with the products. Please refer to it for detailed information.
Preparation and Storage
Samples are stable for up to twelve months from date of receipt at -20 degree C to -80 degree C. Store it under sterile conditions at -20 degree C to -80 degree C. It is recommended that the protein be aliquoted for optimal storage. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.
In general, recombinant proteins are provided as lyophilized powder which are shipped at ambient temperature. Bulk packages of recombinant proteins are provided as frozen liquid.
They are shipped out with blue ice.

NCBI Description

6-phosphogluconate dehydrogenase is the second dehydrogenase in the pentose phosphate shunt. Deficiency of this enzyme is generally asymptomatic, and the inheritance of this disorder is autosomal dominant. Hemolysis results from combined deficiency of 6-phosphogluconate dehydrogenase and 6-phosphogluconolactonase suggesting a synergism of the two enzymopathies. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]

Uniprot Description

PGD: an oxidative carboxylase that catalyses the decarboxylating reduction of 6-phosphogluconate into ribulose 5-phosphate in the presence of NADP. This reaction is a component of the hexose mono-phosphate shunt and pentose phosphate pathways.

Protein type: Oxidoreductase; Carbohydrate Metabolism - pentose phosphate pathway; Other Amino Acids Metabolism - glutathione; EC 1.1.1.44

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 1p36.22

Cellular Component: nucleus; cytosol

Molecular Function: phosphogluconate dehydrogenase (decarboxylating) activity; NADP binding

Biological Process: pentose-phosphate shunt; pentose-phosphate shunt, oxidative branch; carbohydrate metabolic process; pathogenesis; D-gluconate metabolic process; pentose biosynthetic process

Product Notes

The PGD pgd (Catalog #AAA8120246) is an Active Protein produced from E Coli and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The amino acid sequence is listed below: Met1-Ala48 3. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "PGD, Active Protein" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
