Applicable Applications for IL15 active protein
SDS-PAGE
Application Notes
Native mouse Interleukin-15 is generated by the proteolytic removal of the signal peptide and propeptide, the molecule has a calculated molecular mass of approximately 13 kDa. Recombinant mouse Interleukin-15 is a disulfide-linked homodimeric protein consisting of 115 amino acid residue subunits, and migrates as an approximately 13kDa protein under non-reducing conditions and reducing conditions in SDS-PAGE.
Species
Mouse
Source Note
Optimized DNA sequence encoding mouse Interleukin-15 mature chain was expressed in Escherichia Coli.
Biological Activity
The ED50 was determined by the dose-dependent proliferation of murine CTLL-2 cells is < 2.0 ng/ml.
Endotoxin
Endotoxin content was assayed using a LAL gel clot method. Endotoxin level was found to be less than 0.1 ng/ug(1EU/ug).
Reconstitution
A quick spin of the vial followed by reconstitution in distilled water to a concentration not less than 0.1 mg/mL. This solution can then be diluted into other buffers.
Preparation and Storage
The lyophilized protein is stable for at least 2 years from date of receipt at -20 degree C. Upon reconstitution, this cytokine can be stored in working aliquots at 2 degree C - 8 degree C for one month, or at -20 degree C for six months, with a carrier protein without detectable loss of activity. Avoid repeated freeze/thaw cycles.

NCBI Description

The protein encoded by this gene is a cytokine that regulates T and natural killer cell activation and proliferation. This cytokine and interleukine 2 share many biological activities. They are found to bind common hematopoietin receptor subunits, and may compete for the same receptor, and thus negatively regulate each other's activity. The number of CD8+ memory cells is shown to be controlled by a balance between this cytokine and IL2. This cytokine induces the activation of JAK kinases, as well as the phosphorylation and activation of transcription activators STAT3, STAT5, and STAT6. Studies of the mouse counterpart suggested that this cytokine may increase the expression of apoptosis inhibitor BCL2L1/BCL-x(L), possibly through the transcription activation activity of STAT6, and thus prevent apoptosis. Alternatively spliced transcript variants of this gene have been reported. [provided by RefSeq, Feb 2011]

Uniprot Description

Cytokine that stimulates the proliferation of T-lymphocytes. Stimulation by IL-15 requires interaction of IL-15 with components of IL-2R, including IL-2R beta and probably IL-2R gamma but not IL-2R alpha.

Product Notes

The IL15 il15 (Catalog #AAA553664) is an Active Protein produced from E Coli and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. AAA Biotech's IL15 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, SDS-PAGE. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the IL15 il15 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. The amino acid sequence is listed below: MKILKPYMRN TSISCYLCFL LNSHFLTEAG IHVFILGCVS VGLPKTEANW IDVRYDLEKI ESLIQSIHID TTLYTDSDFH PSCKVTAMNC FLLELQVILH EYSNMTLNET VRNVLYLANS TLSSNKNVAE SGCKECEELE EKTFTEFLQS FIRIVQMFIN TS . It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "IL15, Active Protein" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
