Biological Activity
The maximal chemotactic activity of rat GRO-ß on rat neutrophils as assayed in a modified Boyden chamber was achieved at 50ng/ml.

Lyophilized rat GRO-ß is soluble in water and most aqueous buffers. The lyophilized protein should be reconstituted in water to a concentration of 100 ng/ul. This solution can be diluted into water or other buffered solutions or stored at -20 degree C for future use.

This antimicrobial gene is part of a chemokine superfamily that encodes secreted proteins involved in immunoregulatory and inflammatory processes. The superfamily is divided into four subfamilies based on the arrangement of the N-terminal cysteine residues of the mature peptide.
