Ordering
For Research Use Only!
Host
E Coli
Purity/Purification
>95% as determined by SDS-PAGE
Form/Format
Lyophilized from a concentrated protein solution containing 0.02% TFA
Sequence Length
426
Bioactivity
The ED(50) as determined by the ability to induce cytotoxicity of MPC-11 cells was found to be 1-1.5 ng/ml
Endotoxin Level
<1.0 EU/ug of recombinant protein as determined by the LAL method
Reconstitution
A quick spin of the vial followed by reconstitution in sterile distilled water to a concentration not less than 0.1 mg/mL. This solution can then be diluted into other buffers.
Preparation and Storage
The lyophilized protein is stable for at least one year from date of receipt at-70 degree C. Upon reconstitution, this cytokine can be stored in working aliquots at 2-8 degree C for one month, or at-20 degree C for six months, with a carrier protein without detectable loss of activity. Avoid repeated freeze/thaw cycles.
Related Product Information for INHBA active protein
Part of the TGF-beta family, inhibins/activins are involved in regulating a number of diverse functions such as hypothalamic, pituitary and gonadal hormone secretion, germ cell development and maturation, erythroid differentiation, insulin secretion, nerve cell survival, embryonic axial development and bone growth depending on their subunit composition. Activin A is a disulfide linked homodimer (two beta-A chains) that binds to the two forms of activin receptor type I (Act RI-A and Act RI-B) and two forms of activin receptor type II (Act RII-A and Act RII-B). The biological activities of Activin A can be neutralized by inhibins and by the diffusible TGF-beta antagonist, follistatin. Recombinant Human Activin A is a homodimeric, non-glycosylated protein that has a molecular weight of 26 kDa.

NCBI Description

This gene encodes a member of the TGF-beta (transforming growth factor-beta) superfamily of proteins. The encoded preproprotein is proteolytically processed to generate a subunit of the dimeric activin and inhibin protein complexes. These complexes activate and inhibit, respectively, follicle stimulating hormone secretion from the pituitary gland. The encoded protein also plays a role in eye, tooth and testis development. Elevated expression of this gene may be associated with cancer cachexia in human patients. [provided by RefSeq, Aug 2016]

Product Notes

The INHBA inhba (Catalog #AAA4159783) is an Active Protein produced from E Coli and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Activin A (INHBA), Active Protein" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
