DYRK1B (Dual specificity tyrosine-phosphorylation-regulated kinase 1B) is a member of the evolutionarily conserved DYRK family with key roles in the control of cell proliferation and differentiation. DYRK1B acts in G0/G1 to maintain cells in growth arrest and quiescence by targeting cyclin D1 for proteasomal degradation by phosphorylating a threonine residue close to the C terminus. Paradoxically, DYRK1B can also stabilize other proteins by phosphorylation as illustrated by the phosphorylation by DYRK1B of p27Kip1 on Ser10 during the G0 phase of the cell cycle. Deregulation of DYRK1B such as gene amplification, overexpression and/or constitutive activation has been observed in multiple types of cancer.

NCBI and Uniprot Product Information
NCBI Description
This gene encodes a member of a family of nuclear-localized protein kinases. The encoded protein participates in the regulation of the cell cycle. Expression of this gene may be altered in tumor cells, and mutations in this gene were found to cause abdominal obesity-metabolic syndrome 3. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants. [provided by RefSeq, Jun 2014]

Product Notes
The DYRK1B (Catalog #AAA516780) is a Recombinant Protein produced from Sf9 insect cells and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. AAA Biotech's DYRK1B can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Kinase Assay, Western Blot (WB). Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the DYRK1B for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "DYRK1B, Recombinant Protein" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.Precautions
