NCBI Description

Encodes a transcription factor that specifically binds to DRE/CRT cis elements (responsive to drought and low-temperature stress). Belongs to the DREB subfamily A-2 of ERF/AP2 transcription factor family (DREB2A). There are eight members in this subfamily including DREB2B. The protein contains one AP2 domain. Overexpression of transcriptional activation domain of DREB2A resulted in significant drought stress tolerance but only slight freezing tolerance in transgenic Arabidopsis plants. Microarray and RNA gel blot analyses revealed that DREB2A regulates expression of many water stress#Aeiinducible genes.

Uniprot Description

Transcriptional activator that binds specifically to the DNA sequence 5'-[AG]CCGAC-3'. Binding to the C-repeat/DRE element mediates high salinity- and dehydration-inducible transcription.

It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Dehydration-responsive element-binding protein 2A (DREB2A), Recombinant Protein" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
