Description: A DNA sequence encoding the human DPEP2 (AAH24021.1) (Met1-Ser376) was expressed with a polyhistidine tag at the C-terminus.
NCBI and Uniprot Product Information
NCBI Description
DPEP2 belongs to the membrane-bound dipeptidase (EC 3.4.13.19) family. These enzymes hydrolyze a variety of dipeptides, including leukotriene D4, the beta-lactam ring of some antibiotics, and cystinyl-bis-glycine (cys-bis-gly) formed during glutathione degradation (Habib et al., 2003 [PubMed 12738806]).[supplied by OMIM, Mar 2008]
Uniprot Description
DPEP2: Probable metalloprotease which hydrolyzes leukotriene D4 (LTD4) into leukotriene E4 (LTE4). Belongs to the peptidase M19 family. 2 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.
Protein type: EC 3.4.13.19; Membrane protein, GPI anchor; Protease; Secreted; Secreted, signal peptide
Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 16q22.1
Molecular Function: dipeptidase activity

Product Notes
The DPEP2 dpep2 (Catalog #AAA2545242) is a Recombinant Protein produced from Human Cells and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The recombinant human DPEP2 consists of 355 amino acids and predicts a molecular mass of 39.4 KDa. It migrates as an approximately 47 KDa band in SDS-PAGE under reducing conditions. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the DPEP2 dpep2 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "DPEP2, Recombinant Protein" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.Precautions
