Related Product Information for Dkk-1 recombinant protein
Dickkopf-related protein 1, also known as Dkk-1, is a member of the Dkk protein family including Dkk-1, 2, 3 and -4. It is a secreted protein with two cysteine rich regions and is involved in embryonic development through its inhibition of the WNT signaling pathway. Elevated level of Dkk-1 in bone marrow plasma and peripheral blood is associated with the presence of osteolytic bone lesions in patients with multiple myeloma. Recombinant human Dkk-1 protein, fused to His-tag at C-terminus, was expressed ininsect cell using baculovirus expression system and purified by using conventional chromatography.

NCBI Description

This gene encodes a member of the dickkopf family of proteins. Members of this family are secreted proteins characterized by two cysteine-rich domains that mediate protein-protein interactions. The encoded protein binds to the LRP6 co-receptor and inhibits beta-catenin-dependent Wnt signaling. This gene plays a role in embryonic development and may be important in bone formation in adults. Elevated expression of this gene has been observed in numerous human cancers and this protein may promote proliferation, invasion and growth in cancer cell lines. [provided by RefSeq, Sep 2017]

Uniprot Description

Antagonizes canonical Wnt signaling by inhibiting LRP5/6 interaction with Wnt and by forming a ternary complex with the transmembrane protein KREMEN that promotes internalization of LRP5/6 (PubMed:22000856). DKKs play an important role in vertebrate development, where they locally inhibit Wnt regulated processes such as antero-posterior axial patterning, limb development, somitogenesis and eye formation. In the adult, Dkks are implicated in bone formation and bone disease, cancer and Alzheimer disease (PubMed:17143291). Inhibits the pro-apoptotic function of KREMEN1 in a Wnt-independent manner, and has anti-apoptotic activity ().

Product Notes

The Dkk-1 dkk1 (Catalog #AAA203274) is a Recombinant Protein produced from Baculovirus and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The tag for this protein is His-tag. AAA Biotech's Dkk-1 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, SDS-PAGE. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the Dkk-1 dkk1 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. The amino acid sequence is listed below: ADPTLNSVLN SNAIKNLPPP LGGAAGHPGS AVSAAPGILY PGGNKYQTID NYQPYPCAED EECGTDEYCA SPTRGGDAGV QICLACRKRR KRCMRHAMCC PGNYCKNGIC VSSDQNHFRG EIEETITESF GNDHSTLDGY SRRTTLSSKM YHTKGQEGSV CLRSSDCASG LCCARHFWSK ICKPVLKEGQ VCTKHRRKGS HGLEIFQRCY CGEGLSCRIQ KDHHQASNSS RLHTCQRHSG RLVPRGSHHH HHH. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Dkk-1, Recombinant Protein" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
