Preparation and Storage
The stability of kit is determined by the loss rate of activity. The loss rate of this kit is less than 5% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition.
To minimize extra influence on the performance, operation procedures and lab conditions, especially room temperature, air humidity, incubator temperature should be strictly controlled. It is also strongly suggested that the whole assay is performed by the same operator from the beginning to the end.

Related Product Information for DEFb119 elisa kit
The test principle applied in this kit is Sandwich enzyme immunoassay. The microtiter plate provided in this kit has been pre-coated with an antibody specific to Defensin Beta 119 (DEFb119). Standards or samples are then added to the appropriate microtiter plate wells with a biotin-conjugated antibody specific to Defensin Beta 119 (DEFb119). Next, Avidin conjugated to Horseradish Peroxidase (HRP) is added to each microplate well and incubated. After TMB substrate solution is added, only those wells that contain Defensin Beta 119 (DEFb119), biotin-conjugated antibody and enzyme-conjugated Avidin will exhibit a change in color. The enzyme-substrate reaction is terminated by the addition of sulphuric acid solution and the color change is measured spectrophotometrically at a wavelength of 450nm ± 10nm. The concentration of Defensin Beta 119 (DEFb119) in the samples is then determined by comparing the O.D. of the samples to the standard curve.

NCBI Description

This gene encodes a member of the beta subfamily of defensins. Beta-defensins are antimicrobial peptides that protect tissues and organs from infection by a variety of microorganisms. This gene is found in a cluster with other beta-defensin genes on the long arm of chromosome 20. Multiple transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Nov 2014]

Uniprot Description

defensin, beta 19: Has antibacterial activity (Potential). Belongs to the beta-defensin family. 3 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.

Protein type: Secreted, signal peptide; Secreted

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 20q11.21

Cellular Component: cell surface; extracellular region

Biological Process: defense response to bacterium; innate immune response

Product Notes

The Mouse DEFb119 defb119 (Catalog #AAA2031943) is an ELISA Kit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The AAA2031943 ELISA Kit recognizes Mouse DEFb119. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Defensin Beta 119, ELISA Kit" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
