NCBI Description

This gene encodes a protein that is a member of the CXC subfamily of chemokines. Chemokines, which recruit and activate leukocytes, are classified by function (inflammatory or homeostatic) or by structure. This secretory protein is proposed to bind the G-protein coupled receptor chemokine (C-X-C motif) receptor 2 to recruit neutrophils. [provided by RefSeq, May 2013]

Uniprot Description

CXCL1: Has chemotactic activity for neutrophils. May play a role in inflammation and exerts its effects on endothelial cells in an autocrine fashion. In vitro, the processed forms GRO- alpha(4-73), GRO-alpha(5-73) and GRO-alpha(6-73) show a 30-fold higher chemotactic activity. Belongs to the intercrine alpha (chemokine CxC) family.

Product Notes

The CXCL3 / GRO gamma cxcl3 (Catalog #AAA2546590) is a Recombinant Protein produced from Yeast and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The recombinant mouse Cxcl3 consists of 83 amino acids and predicts a molecular mass of 9.3 kDa. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the CXCL3 / GRO gamma cxcl3 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "CXCL3 / GRO gamma, Recombinant Protein" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
