Host
E Coli
Purity/Purification
>97%, as determined by SDS-PAGE and HPLC
Form/Format
Recombinant mouse GRO-alpha/CXCL1 was lyophilized from a 0.2um filtered PBS pH 7.4.
Sequence
QTEVIATLKN GREACLDPEA PLVQKIVQKM LKGVPK
Sequence Length
96
Domain
IL8
Host Note
Optimized DNA sequence encoding mouse GRO alpha mature chain was expressed in Escherichia Coli.
Endotoxin
Endotoxin content was assayed using a LAL gel clot method.
Endotoxin level was found to be less than 0.1 ng/ug (1EU/ug).
Reconstitution
A quick spin of the vial followed by reconstitution in distilled water to a concentration not less than 0.1 mg/mL. This solution can then be diluted into other buffers.
Molecular Weight Note
Native mouse CXCL1/GRO-alpha is generated by the proteolytic removal of the signal peptide and propeptide. The molecule has a calculated molecular mass of approximately 8 kDa.

Recombinant mouse CXCL1/GRO-a is a disulfide-linked homodimeric protein consisting of 73 amino acid residue subunits, and migrates as an approximately 8 kDa protein under non-reducing and reducing conditions in SDS-PAGE.
Preparation and Storage
The lyophilized protein is stable for at least 2 years from date of receipt at -20 degree C.
Upon reconstitution, this cytokine can be stored in working aliquots at 2 degree - 8 degree C for one month, or at -20 degree C for six months, with a carrier protein without detectable loss of activity.

Avoid repeated freeze/thaw cycles.
Related Product Information for CXCL1 recombinant protein

NCBI Description

This gene encodes a protein that is a member of the CXC subfamily of chemokines. Chemokines, which recruit and activate leukocytes, are classified by function (inflammatory or homeostatic) or by structure. This secretory protein is proposed to bind the G-protein coupled receptor chemokine (C-X-C motif) receptor 2 to recruit neutrophils. In mouse, deficiency of this gene is associated with colitis and with defects in immune cell recruitment to the lung. [provided by RefSeq, Apr 2013]

Uniprot Description

CXCL2: Produced by activated monocytes and neutrophils and expressed at sites of inflammation. Hematoregulatory chemokine, which, in vitro, suppresses hematopoietic progenitor cell proliferation. GRO-beta(5-73) shows a highly enhanced hematopoietic activity. Belongs to the intercrine alpha (chemokine CxC) family.

Product Notes

The CXCL1 cxcl1 (Catalog #AAA553283) is a Recombinant Protein produced from E Coli and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The amino acid sequence is listed below: QTEVIATLKN GREACLDPEA PLVQKIVQKM LKGVPK. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "GRO-alpha (CXCL1), Recombinant Protein" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
