Rat Cathepsin S ELISA Kit | CTSS elisa kit

Rat Cathepsin S ELISA Kit

Reactivity
Rat
Synonyms
Cathepsin S; Rat Cathepsin S ELISA Kit; CTSS elisa kit
Ordering
For Research Use Only!
Reactivity
Rat
Specificity
No significant cross-reactivity or interference between Rat CTSS and analogues was observed.
Samples
Serum, Plasma, Tissue Homogenate, Feces and Urine
Assay Type
Sandwich
Detection Range
3.12 ng/ml - 100 ng/ml.
Sensitivity
1.0 ng/ml.
Intended Uses
This Quantitative Sandwich ELISA kit is only for in vitro research use only, not for drug, household, therapeutic applications! It is intended to be determinated CTSS concentrations in Rat serum, plasma and other body fluids. Using Purified Rat CTSS antibody to coat Microelisa Stripplate wells to make solid-phase antibody, then add CTSS and CTSS antibody which has been labeled with HRP to wells, then the reactants become antibody-antigen-antibody-enzyme complex, after washing completely, add TMB substrate solution, TMB substrate becomes blue color under HRP enzyme-catalyzed, reaction is terminated by the addition of a sulphuric acid solution and the color change is measured spectrophotometrically at a wavelength of 450 nm. The concentration of CTSS in the samples is then determined by comparing the O.D. of the samples to the standard curve.
Intra-assay Precision
Intra-assay CV (%) is less than 15%.
Inter-assay Precision
Inter-assay CV (%) is less than 15%. [CV(%) = SD/mean ×100]
Preparation and Storage
Store all reagents at 2-8 degree C

NCBI Description

The protein encoded by this gene, a member of the peptidase C1 family, is a lysosomal cysteine proteinase that may participate in the degradation of antigenic proteins to peptides for presentation on MHC class II molecules. The encoded protein can function as an elastase over a broad pH range in alveolar macrophages. Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding distinct isoforms have been found for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Dec 2010]

Uniprot Description

CTSS: Thiol protease. Key protease responsible for the removal of the invariant chain from MHC class II molecules. The bond- specificity of this proteinase is in part similar to the specificities of cathepsin L and cathepsin N. Belongs to the peptidase C1 family. 2 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.

Protein type: EC 3.4.22.27; Protease

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 1q21

Cellular Component: extracellular space; lysosomal lumen; intracellular membrane-bound organelle; membrane; lysosome; extracellular region

Molecular Function: collagen binding; proteoglycan binding; fibronectin binding; cysteine-type endopeptidase activity; laminin binding

Biological Process: extracellular matrix organization and biogenesis; adaptive immune response; antigen processing and presentation of exogenous peptide antigen via MHC class I, TAP-independent; antigen processing and presentation of exogenous peptide antigen via MHC class II; proteolysis; antigen processing and presentation; extracellular matrix disassembly; collagen catabolic process; antigen processing and presentation of peptide antigen via MHC class I; proteolysis involved in cellular protein catabolic process; toll-like receptor signaling pathway; innate immune response; antigen processing and presentation of exogenous peptide antigen via MHC class I; immune response; positive regulation of inflammatory response

Product Notes

The Rat CTSS ctss (Catalog #AAA011479) is an ELISA Kit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The AAA011479 ELISA Kit recognizes Rat CTSS. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Cathepsin S, ELISA Kit" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
