Ordering
For Research Use Only!
Reactivity
Human
Specificity
No significant cross-reactivity or interference between Human CRYM and analogues was observed.
Samples
Serum, Plasma, Tissue Homogenate, Feces and Urine
Assay Type
Sandwich
Detection Range
0.25 ng/ml - 8 ng/ml.
Sensitivity
0.1 ng/ml.
Intended Uses
This Quantitative Sandwich ELISA kit is only for in vitro research use only, not for drug, household, therapeutic applications! It is intended to be determinated CRYM concentrations in Human serum, plasma and other body fluids. Using Purified Human CRYM antibody to coat Microelisa Stripplate wells to make solid-phase antibody, then add CRYM and CRYM antibody which has been labeled with HRP to wells, then the reactants become antibody-antigen-antibody-enzyme complex, after washing completely, add TMB substrate solution, TMB substrate becomes blue color under HRP enzyme-catalyzed, reaction is terminated by the addition of a sulphuric acid solution and the color change is measured spectrophotometrically at a wavelength of 450 nm. The concentration of CRYM in the samples is then determined by comparing the O.D. of the samples to the standard curve.
Intra-assay Precision
Intra-assay CV (%) is less than 15%.
Inter-assay Precision
Inter-assay CV (%) is less than 15%. [CV(%) = SD/mean ×100]
Preparation and Storage
Store all reagents at 2-8 degree C

NCBI Description

Crystallins are separated into two classes: taxon-specific and ubiquitous. The former class is also called phylogenetically-restricted crystallins. The latter class constitutes the major proteins of vertebrate eye lens and maintains the transparency and refractive index of the lens. This gene encodes a taxon-specific crystallin protein that binds NADPH and has sequence similarity to bacterial ornithine cyclodeaminases. The encoded protein does not perform a structural role in lens tissue, and instead it binds thyroid hormone for possible regulatory or developmental roles. Mutations in this gene have been associated with autosomal dominant non-syndromic deafness. Multiple alternatively spliced transcript variants have been found for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Mar 2010]

Uniprot Description

CRYM: Specifically catalyzes the reduction of imine bonds in brain substrates that may include cystathionine ketimine (CysK) and lanthionine ketimine (LK). Binds thyroid hormone which is a strong reversible inhibitor. Presumably involved in the regulation of the free intracellular concentration of triiodothyronine and access to its nuclear receptors. Belongs to the ornithine cyclodeaminase family.

Product Notes

The Human CRYM crym (Catalog #AAA9319285) is an ELISA Kit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The AAA9319285 ELISA Kit recognizes Human CRYM. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "crystallin, mu, ELISA Kit" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
