Human carnitine O-octanoyltransferase ELISA Kit | CROT elisa kit

Human Peroxisomal carnitine O-octanoyltransferase, CROT ELISA Kit

Gene Names
CROT; COT
Reactivity
Human
Synonyms
carnitine O-octanoyltransferase; Human Peroxisomal carnitine O-octanoyltransferase; CROT ELISA Kit; Human Peroxisomal carnitine O-octanoyltransferase (CROT) ELISA kit; COT; peroxisomal carnitine acyltransferase; peroxisomal carnitine octanoyltransferase; CROT elisa kit
Ordering
For Research Use Only!
Reactivity
Human
Specificity
No significant cross-reactivity or interference between Human CROT and analogues was observed.
Samples
Serum, Plasma, Tissue Homogenate, Feces and Urine
Assay Type
Sandwich
Detection Range
0.25ng/ml-8ng/ml.
Sensitivity
0.1ng/ml.
Intended Uses
This Quantitative Sandwich ELISA kit is only for in vitro research use only, not for drug, household, therapeutic applications! It is intended to be determinated CROT concentrations in Human serum, plasma and other body fluids. Using Purified Human CROT antibody to coat Microelisa Stripplate wells to make solid-phase antibody, then add CROT and CROT antibody which has been labeled with HRP to wells, then the reactants become antibody-antigen-antibody-enzyme complex, after washing completely, add TMB substrate solution, TMB substrate becomes blue color under HRP enzyme-catalyzed, reaction is terminated by the addition of a sulphuric acid solution and the color change is measured spectrophotometrically at a wavelength of 450 nm. The concentration of CROT in the samples is then determined by comparing the O.D. of the samples to the standard curve.
Intra-assay Precision
Intra-assay CV (%) is less than 15%.
Inter-assay Precision
Inter-assay CV (%) is less than 15%. [CV(%) = SD/mean ×100]
Preparation and Storage
Store all reagents at 2-8 degree C

NCBI Description

This gene encodes a member of the carnitine/choline acetyltransferase family. The encoded protein converts 4,8-dimethylnonanoyl-CoA to its corresponding carnitine ester. This transesterification occurs in the peroxisome and is necessary for transport of medium- and long- chain acyl-CoA molecules out of the peroxisome to the cytosol and mitochondria. The protein thus plays a role in lipid metabolism and fatty acid beta-oxidation. Alternatively spliced transcript variants have been described.[provided by RefSeq, Jan 2009]

Uniprot Description

CROT: Beta-oxidation of fatty acids. The highest activity concerns the C6 to C10 chain length substrate. Converts the end product of pristanic acid beta oxidation, 4,8-dimethylnonanoyl- CoA, to its corresponding carnitine ester. Belongs to the carnitine/choline acetyltransferase family.

Protein type: Transferase; EC 2.3.1.137

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 7q21.1

Cellular Component: peroxisomal matrix; intracellular membrane-bound organelle; mitochondrion; peroxisome

Molecular Function: carnitine O-octanoyltransferase activity; receptor binding

Biological Process: coenzyme A metabolic process; fatty acid beta-oxidation using acyl-CoA oxidase; generation of precursor metabolites and energy; fatty acid beta-oxidation; carnitine metabolic process; cellular lipid metabolic process; fatty acid metabolic process; medium-chain fatty acid metabolic process; fatty acid transport

Product Notes

The Human CROT crot (Catalog #AAA9323763) is an ELISA Kit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The AAA9323763 ELISA Kit recognizes Human CROT. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "carnitine O-octanoyltransferase, ELISA Kit" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
