Preparation and Storage
Avoid repeated freeze/thaw cycles. Store at 2-8 degree C for one month. Aliquot and store at -80 degree C for 12 months.
Stability Test: The thermal stability is described by the loss rate of the target protein. The loss rate was determined by accelerated thermal degradation test, that is, incubate the protein at 37 degree C for 48h, and no obvious degradation and precipitation were observed. (Referring from China Biological Products Standard, which was calculated by the Arrhenius equation.) The loss of this protein is lessthan 5% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition.

NCBI Description

This gene encodes a member of the cytoplasmic polyadenylation element binding protein family. This highly conserved protein binds to a specific RNA sequence, called the cytoplasmic polyadenylation element, found in the 3' untranslated region of some mRNAs. The encoded protein functions in both the cytoplasm and the nucleus. It is involved in the regulation of mRNA translation, as well as processing of the 3' untranslated region, and may play a role in cell proliferation and tumorigenesis. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants. [provided by RefSeq, Jan 2014]

Uniprot Description

CPEB: cytoplasmic polyadenylation element binding protein 1. Binds to the protein CPE and drives its polyadenylation. Activated by the protein kinase AurA. Insulin and progesterone stimulate AurA-catalyzed phosphorylation of CPEB in oocytes. Neuronal CPEB regulates local protein synthesis and stabilizes synapse-specific long-term facilitation in aplysia.

Product Notes

The CPEB1 cpeb1 (Catalog #AAA2033505) is a Recombinant Protein produced from E Coli and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. AAA Biotech's Cytoplasmic Polyadenylation Element Binding Protein 1 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, SDS-PAGE, Western (WB), ELISA (EIA), Immunoprecipitation (IP). Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the CPEB1 cpeb1 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. The amino acid sequence is listed below: CKVFLGGVPW DITEAGLVNT FRVFGSLSVE WPGKDGKHPR CPPKGYVYLV FELEKSVRSL LQACSHDPLS PDGLSEYYFK MSSRRMRCKE VQVIPWVLAD SNFVRSPSQR LDPSRTVFVG ALHGMLNAEA LAAILNDLFG GVVYAGIDTD KHKYPIGSGR VTFNNQRSYL KAVSAAFVEI KTTKFTKKVQ IDPYLEDSLC HICSSQPGPF FCRDQVCFKY FCRSCWHWRH SMEGLRHHSP LMRNQKNRDS S. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Cytoplasmic Polyadenylation Element Binding Protein 1, Recombinant Protein" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
