NCBI Description

This gene encodes a subunit of the chromatin remodeling complex, which is classified into subfamilies depending on sequence features apart from the conserved ATPase domain. This protein is the catalytic ATPase subunit of the INO80 chromatin remodeling complex, which is characterized by a DNA-binding domain. This protein is proposed to bind DNA and be recruited by the YY1 transcription factor to activate certain genes. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants. [provided by RefSeq, Aug 2013]

Uniprot Description

INOC1: DNA helicase and probable main scaffold component of the chromatin remodeling INO80 complex which is involved in transcriptional regulation, DNA replication and probably DNA repair; according to PubMed:20687897 the contribution to DNA double-strand break repair appears to be largely indirect through transcriptional regulation. Recruited by YY1 to YY1-activated genes, where it acts as an essential coactivator. Binds DNA. In vitro, has double stranded DNA-dependent ATPase activity. Involved in UV-damage excision repair, DNA replication and chromosome segregation during normal cell division cycle. Belongs to the SNF2/RAD54 helicase family.

Protein type: Helicase; EC 3.6.4.12; DNA-binding

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 15q15.1

Cellular Component: microtubule; nucleus

Molecular Function: actin binding; alpha-tubulin binding; ATP binding; ATPase activity; DNA binding; DNA helicase activity; protein binding

Product Notes

The INO80 ino80 (Catalog #AAA425092) is a Blocking Peptide and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The INO80 Immunizing Peptide reacts with Human, Rat, Dog, Cow and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. The amino acid sequence is listed below: C-TQEDYDSN HFKAQ. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "INO80, Blocking Peptide" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
