Uniprot Description

AP-2 delta: Sequence-specific DNA-binding protein that interacts with inducible viral and cellular enhancer elements to regulate transcription of selected genes. AP-2 factors bind to the consensus sequence 5'-GCCNNNGGC-3' and activate genes involved in a large spectrum of important biological functions including proper eye, face, body wall, limb and neural tube development. They also suppress a number of genes including MCAM/MUC18, C/EBP alpha and MYC. Belongs to the AP-2 family.

Protein type: DNA-binding; Transcription factor

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 6p12.1

Cellular Component: nucleus; transcription factor complex

Biological Process: anatomical structure development; negative regulation of neuron apoptosis; positive regulation of transcription from RNA polymerase II promoter; regulation of cell proliferation; transcription, DNA-dependent

Product Notes

The TFAP2D tfap2d (Catalog #AAA426887) is a Blocking Peptide and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The TFAP2D Immunizing Peptide reacts with Human, Mouse, Rat, Horse, Dog, Cow and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. The amino acid sequence is listed below: C-HHQSFHYE FQHSHP. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "TFAP2D, Blocking Peptide" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
