Related Product Information for CLU elisa kit
Intended Uses: This CLU ELISA kit is a 1.5 hour solid-phase ELISA designed for the quantitative determination of Monkey CLU. This ELISA kit for research use only!

Principle of the Assay: CLU ELISA kit applies the competitive enzyme immunoassay technique utilizing a polyclonal anti-CLU antibody and an CLU-HRP conjugate. The assay sample and buffer are incubated together with CLU-HRP conjugate in pre-coated plate for one hour. After the incubation period, the wells are decanted and washed five times. The wells are then incubated with a substrate for HRP enzyme. The product of the enzyme-substrate reaction forms a blue colored complex. Finally, a stop solution is added to stop the reaction, which will then turn the solution yellow. The intensity of color is measured spectrophotometrically at 450nm in a microplate reader. The intensity of the color is inversely proportional to the CLU concentration since CLU from samples and CLU-HRP conjugate compete for the anti-CLU antibody binding site. Since the number of sites is limited, as more sites are occupied by CLU from the sample, fewer sites are left to bind CLU-HRP conjugate. A standard curve is plotted relating the intensity of the color (O.D.) to the concentration of standards. The CLU concentration in each sample is interpolated from this standard curve.

Uniprot Description

Functions as extracellular chaperone that prevents aggregation of nonnative proteins. Prevents stress-induced aggregation of blood plasma proteins. Inhibits formation of amyloid fibrils by APP, APOC2, B2M, CALCA, CSN3, SNCA and aggregation-prone LYZ variants (in vitro). Does not require ATP. Maintains partially unfolded proteins in a state appropriate for subsequent refolding by other chaperones, such as HSPA8/HSC70. Does not refold proteins by itself. Binding to cell surface receptors triggers internalization of the chaperone-client complex and subsequent lysosomal or proteasomal degradation. When secreted, protects cells against apoptosis and against cytolysis by complement. Intracellular forms interact with ubiquitin and SCF (SKP1-CUL1-F-box protein) E3 ubiquitin-protein ligase complexes and promote the ubiquitination and subsequent proteasomal degradation of target proteins. Promotes proteasomal degradation of COMMD1 and IKBKB. Modulates NF-kappa-B transcriptional activity. Promotes apoptosis when in the nucleus. Inhibits apoptosis when associated with the mitochondrial membrane by interference with BAX-dependent release of cytochrome c into the cytoplasm. Plays a role in the regulation of cell proliferation ().

Product Notes

The Monkey CLU clu (Catalog #AAA739010) is an ELISA Kit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The AAA739010 ELISA Kit recognizes Monkey CLU. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Clusterin, ELISA Kit" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
