Related Product Information for MDL-1/CLEC5A recombinant protein
CLEC5A, also known as C-type lectin domain family 5 member A isoform 1, is a member of the CTL/CTLD superfamily that have diverse functions, such as cell adhesion, cell-cell signalling, glycoprotein turnover, and roles in inflammation and immune response. It functions as a cell attachment receptor for all four serotypes of Dengue virus as well as Japanese encephalitis virus. The binding of dengue virus to CLEC5A triggers signaling through the phosphylation of TYROBP, this interaction does not result in viral entry, but stimulates proinflammatory cytokine release. This protein acts as a positive regulator of osteoclastogenesis and a key regulator of synovial injury and bone erosion during autoimmune joint inflammation. Recombinant human CLEC5A protein, fused to His-tag at C-terminus, was expressed in insect cell and purified by using conventional chromatography techniques.

NCBI Description

This gene encodes a member of the C-type lectin/C-type lectin-like domain (CTL/CTLD) superfamily. Members of this family share a common protein fold and have diverse functions, such as cell adhesion, cell-cell signalling, glycoprotein turnover, and roles in inflammation and immune response. The encoded type II transmembrane protein interacts with dnax-activation protein 12 and may play a role in cell activation. Alternative splice variants have been described but their full-length sequence has not been determined. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]

Product Notes

The MDL-1/CLEC5A clec5a (Catalog #AAA201085) is a Recombinant Protein produced from Baculovirus and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The immunogen sequence is 28-188aa. AAA Biotech's MDL-1/CLEC5A can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, SDS-PAGE. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the MDL-1/CLEC5A clec5a for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. The amino acid sequence is listed below: ADLPQIFNKS NDGFTTTRSY GTVSQIFGSS SPSPNGFITT RSYGTVCPKD WEFYQARCFF LSTSESSWNE SRDFCKGKGS TLAIVNTPEK LKFLQDITDA EKYFIGLIYH REEKRWRWIN NSVFNGNVTN QNQNFNCATI GLTKTFDAAS CDISYRRICE KNAKHHHHHH. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "MDL-1/CLEC5A, Recombinant Protein" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
