• Source Note: Optimized DNA sequence encoding Human WNT7A mature chain including a C-terminal 6xHis tag was expressed in CHO. Recombinant Human Protein Wnt-7a encodes amino acid residues 32-349.
• Biological Activity: Determined by its ability to inhibit Wnt-3a-induced alkaline phosphatase production in MC3T3-E1 cells. The expected ED50 for this effect is 40-60 ng/ml.
• Endotoxin: Endotoxin content was assayed using a LAL gel clot method. Endotoxin level was found to be less than 0.1 ng/ug(1EU/ug).
• Reconstitution: A quick spin of the vial followed by reconstitution in distilled water to a concentration not less than 0.1 mg/mL. This solution can then be diluted into other buffers.
• Preparation and Storage: The lyophilized protein is stable for at least 2 years from date of receipt at -20 degree C. Upon reconstitution, this product can be stored in working aliquots at 2 degree C - 8 degree C for one month, or at -20 degree C for six months, with a carrier protein without detectable loss of activity. Avoid repeated freeze/thaw cycles.

This gene is a member of the WNT gene family, which consists of structurally related genes that encode secreted signaling proteins. These proteins have been implicated in oncogenesis and in several developmental processes, including regulation of cell fate and patterning during embryogenesis. This gene is involved in the development of the anterior-posterior axis in the female reproductive tract, and also plays a critical role in uterine smooth muscle pattering and maintenance of adult uterine function. Mutations in this gene are associated with Fuhrmann and Al-Awadi/Raas-Rothschild/Schinzel phocomelia syndromes. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]
