Related Product Information for CHI3L1 recombinant protein
Chitinases catalyze the hydrolysis of chitin, which is an abundant glycopolymer found in insect exoskeletons and fungal cell walls. The glycoside hydrolase 18 family of chitinases includes eight human family members. CHI3L1 is a glycoprotein member of the glycosyl hydrolase 18 family. The protein lacks chitinase activity and is secreted by activated macrophages, chondrocytes, neutrophils and synovial cells. This protein is thought to play a role in the process of inflammation and tissue remodeling. Recombinant human CHI3L1 protein was expressed with C-terminal myc-His-tag in CHO (chinese hamster ovary) cells using mammalian expression system and purified by using conventional chromatography techniques.

NCBI Description

Chitinases catalyze the hydrolysis of chitin, which is an abundant glycopolymer found in insect exoskeletons and fungal cell walls. The glycoside hydrolase 18 family of chitinases includes eight human family members. This gene encodes a glycoprotein member of the glycosyl hydrolase 18 family. The protein lacks chitinase activity and is secreted by activated macrophages, chondrocytes, neutrophils and synovial cells. The protein is thought to play a role in the process of inflammation and tissue remodeling. [provided by RefSeq, Sep 2009]

Uniprot Description

Carbohydrate-binding lectin with a preference for chitin. Has no chitinase activity. May play a role in tissue remodeling and in the capacity of cells to respond to and cope with changes in their environment. Plays a role in T-helper cell type 2 (Th2) inflammatory response and IL-13-induced inflammation, regulating allergen sensitization, inflammatory cell apoptosis, dendritic cell accumulation and M2 macrophage differentiation. Facilitates invasion of pathogenic enteric bacteria into colonic mucosa and lymphoid organs. Mediates activation of AKT1 signaling pathway and subsequent IL8 production in colonic epithelial cells. Regulates antibacterial responses in lung by contributing to macrophage bacterial killing, controlling bacterial dissemination and augmenting host tolerance. Also regulates hyperoxia-induced injury, inflammation and epithelial apoptosis in lung.

Product Notes

The CHI3L1 chi3l1 (Catalog #AAA205086) is a Recombinant Protein produced from CHO Cell and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The tag for this protein is His-tag. AAA Biotech's CHI3L1 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, SDS-PAGE. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the CHI3L1 chi3l1 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. The amino acid sequence is listed below: MGVKASQTGF VVLVLLQCCS AYKLVCYYTS WSQYREGDGS CFPDALDRFL CTHIIYSFAN ISNDHIDTWE WNDVTLYGML NTLKNRNPNL KTLLSVGGWN FGSQRFSKIA SNTQSRRTFI KSVPPFLRTH GFDGLDLAWL YPGRRDKQHF TTLIKEMKAE FIKEAQPGKK QLLLSAALSA GKVTIDSSYD IAKISQHLDF ISIMTYDFHG AWRGTTGHHS PLFRGQEDAS PDRFSNTDYA VGYMLRLGAP ASKLVMGIPT FGRSFTLASS ETGVGAPISG PGIPGRFTKE AGTLAYYEIC DFLRGATVHR ILGQQVPYAT KGNQWVGYDD QESVKSKVQY LKDRQLAGAM VWALDLDDFQ GSFCGQDLRF PLTNAIKDAL AATKLGPEQK LISEEDLNSA VDHHHHHH. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "CHI3L1, Recombinant Protein" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
