Uniprot Description

Catalyzes the formation of 25-hydroxycholesterol from cholesterol, leading to repress cholesterol biosynthetic enzymes. Plays a key role in cell positioning and movement in lymphoid tissues: 25-hydroxycholesterol is an intermediate in biosynthesis of 7-alpha,25-dihydroxycholesterol (7-alpha,25-OHC), an oxysterol that acts as a ligand for the G protein-coupled receptor GPR183/EBI2, a chemotactic receptor for a number of lymphoid cells. May play an important role in regulating lipid metabolism by synthesizing a corepressor that blocks sterol regulatory element binding protein (SREBP) processing. In testis, production of 25-hydroxycholesterol by macrophages may play a role in Leydig cell differentiation.

Product Notes

The CH25H ch25h (Catalog #AAA7011403) is a Recombinant Protein produced from Cell Free Expression and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The immunogen sequence is 1-270aa; full length protein. This is a recombinant transmembrane protein expressed in a cell-free expression system. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the CH25H ch25h for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. The amino acid sequence is listed below: MSGHNNSELF VLCSSSQLFL QPLWDHLKTW ETLILSPFFP VFFSITTYLG FCLPFVVLDV LCPWVPALRR YKIHPDFSPS VWQLLPCLGL TLYQHVVFVF PMTLLHWAAS PVLLPPEAPE LLQLVRHIVL CLLLFDTEFF IWHVLHHKVP WLYRTFHKMH HQNSSSFALA TQYMSVGELL SLGVFDMVNI MLLRCHPLTV LIFHVINIWL SVEDHSGYDF PWSAHRLVPF GWYGGVTHHD LHHSQFNCNF APYFTHWDKI LGTLRSAHAK. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Cholesterol 25-hydroxylase (CH25H), Recombinant Protein" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
