Related Product Information for CGB7 recombinant protein
Background: CGB7 (chorionic gonadotropin, beta polypeptide 7) belongs to the glycoprotein hormones subunit beta family. Glycoprotein hormones are heterodimers consisting of a common alpha subunit and an unique beta subunit which confers biological specificity. CGB7 gene is a member of the glycoprotein hormone beta chain family and encodes the beta 7 subunit of chorionic gonadotropin (CG). CG is produced by the trophoblastic cells of the placenta and stimulates the ovaries to synthesize the steroids that are essential for the maintenance of pregnancy. The beta subunit of CG is encoded by 6 genes which are arranged in tandem and inverted pairs on chromosome 19q13.3 and contiguous with the luteinizing hormone beta subunit gene. CGB7 is used as adjunctive therapy in the treatment of obesity. CGB7 also stimulates the ovaries to synthesize the steroids that are essential for the maintenance of pregnancy.

NCBI Description

This gene is a member of the glycoprotein hormone beta chain family and encodes the beta 3 subunit of chorionic gonadotropin (CG). Glycoprotein hormones are heterodimers consisting of a common alpha subunit and an unique beta subunit which confers biological specificity. Uniprot Description

CGB: Stimulates the ovaries to synthesize the steroids that are essential for the maintenance of pregnancy. Belongs to the glycoprotein hormones subunit beta family. 2 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.

Product Notes

The CGB7 cgb (Catalog #AAA8121277) is a Recombinant Protein produced from Baculovirus-Insect Cells and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The amino acid sequence is listed below: Met1-Gln16 5. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "CGB7, Recombinant Protein" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
